- This package contains Unzip 5.0p1, the latest version of the Info-ZIP free
- generic Unzip utility, as compiled for the Macintosh. This version is
- compatible with PKZip 2.04c, PKWare's latest release for MSDOS, as well as
- with Info-ZIP's own Zip 1.9p1 utility.
-
- The contents of this package are as follows:
-
- README.MAC - Lists contents and describes how to compile Unzip 5.0p1
- for the Macintosh.
-
- Unzip - A version of Unzip 5.0p1 designed to run under MPW.
- Compiled using MPW C 3.2.
-
- Unzip 5.0p1 - A standalone version of Unzip 5.0p1.
- Compiled using Think C 5.0.
-
- Source - A folder containing the complete source to Unzip 5.0p1.
- The contents of this folder are exactly as distributed
- by Info-ZIP.
-
- In order to build either version of Unzip on the Macintosh, a couple of
- preliminary steps are first necessary:
-
- a) Move the contents of the MAC folder with the exception of the
- Contents file into the same folder as the rest of the source files.
-
- b) Using BinHex 4.0 (or some compatible utility), convert the files
- "thinkc.hqx" and "thinkc_rsrc.hqx" into their Macintosh form,
- producing the files "unzip.thinkc" and "unzip.thinkc.rsrc",
- respectively. The first file is not needed if you are only producing
- the MPW version of Unzip but the second file is, despite the name.
-
- You are now ready to build Unzip.
-
- The MPW version of Unzip 5.0p1 can be built with either the Aztec C 5.2a or
- the MPW C 3.2 compilers under MPW using the makefiles "aztec.make" or
- "mpw.make", respectively. Simply rename the appropriate makefile to
- "unzip.make" and do an MPW "build".
-
- The standalone version of UnZip 5.0p1 can be built using Think C 5.0. Open
- the project file "unzip.thinkc" and use the "Build Application" command
- from the "..." menu.
-
- See the "README" file in the "Source" directory for more detailed info on
- Unzip itself as well as where to send suggestions and bug reports.
-
- Enjoy.
